Core Gameplay Loop
Object Hunters places players into two distinct roles: the Seeker and the Object. The Seeker must locate and tag all disguised players before time expires. Objects, meanwhile, can shift their shape into common items like chairs, tables, or boxes to blend into the environment. The round ends when either all Objects are tagged or the timer runs out, awarding points based on survival or successful tags.
Disguise Strategy
Choosing the right disguise is key. Objects that match their surroundings—like a trash can in an alley or a potted plant in a garden—are harder to spot. Players can also use harmless taunts to distract Seekers, adding a layer of mind games. The game rewards creative thinking about placement and timing, rather than speed or reflexes.
Visual and Audio Design
The game world is bright and cartoonish, with maps that include playgrounds, city streets, and indoor rooms. Each map offers different hiding spots and object types. Sound effects include footsteps, transformation noises, and playful taunts, all designed to keep the mood light and non-threatening.
Controls and Accessibility
Object Hunters uses simple keyboard and mouse controls. Seekers move with WASD and click to tag. Objects move and transform with the keyboard, and can activate taunts with a single button. The interface is clean, with clear timers and score displays. No prior gaming experience is needed, making it accessible to young players and families.
Social Interaction and Teamwork
While Seekers work alone, Objects can cooperate by coordinating hiding spots or using taunts to draw attention away from teammates. The game encourages communication and shared laughter, as players react to clever disguises or near-misses. It is designed for local or online multiplayer sessions, fostering a sense of community without competitive pressure.
Progression and Replayability
Players earn points for each round, which can unlock new object skins or map variations. The simple rules allow for quick matches, but the variety of disguises and maps keeps each session fresh. There are no complex skill trees or pay-to-win elements, ensuring a fair experience for everyone.
